A collection of original recipes created by Taste of the West award-winning chefs and producers.

A Taste of the West Country – featuring recipes from Charlie’s café.

“A Taste of the West Country” is a delightful culinary journey that celebrates the rich gastronomic heritage of the southwestern region of England. Created by pairing award-winning chefs and local producers from Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Somerset, and Wiltshire, this cookbook offers a tantalizing collection of recipes inspired by the bountiful ingredients found in this picturesque corner of the UK.

As someone who submitted three of our recipes to this cookbook, I can attest to the passion and dedication of the contributors. Each dish carries a piece of the West Country’s soul, and it’s heart warming to see how local ingredients come together to create magic on the plate.

The heart of this cookbook lies in its commitment to using locally-sourced produce. From creamy Cornish clotted cream to succulent Devonshire beef, each recipe showcases the flavours of the West Country.

The recipes strike a harmonious balance between simplicity and elegance. Whether you’re a seasoned home cook or a novice in the kitchen, you’ll find dishes that are approachable yet impressive.

These recipes bring the essence of restaurant-quality dining to your home. Imagine savouring a perfectly seared fillet of fish or a comforting bowl of cider-infused stew—all crafted with love and expertise.

“A Taste of the West Country” doesn’t shy away from diversity. It celebrates the culinary traditions of each county, from hearty Cornish pasties to delicate Somerset apple desserts.
